About Us

We met in May of 2014 at the website company where we both worked. Valerie overheard Sean speaking to a co-worker about working on his car. Needing work done with her own car, Valerie approached Sean about helping her to fix it. Sean agreed, and we met up at Valerie’s apartment in Salem, MA. Unfortunately, working on the car ended up being a bigger problem than either of us was prepared for, so we walked around Salem instead. We discovered that we had a great deal in common, from being car enthusiasts, to gamers, to perpetually wanting to learn and experience new things. As we continued to spend time together, we found we also genuinely enjoyed each other’s company.

In February of 2015, we decided to take the next step and moved into a small apartment together on Salisbury Beach. We shared many beautiful sunsets on quintessential “long walks on the beach” (cringe here at the romantic cliches). We also enjoyed winning prizes at the local arcade, eating beach pizza & ice cream, riding go-karts… and of course people watching during the busy summers.

However, the commute was long, and we missed Salem, so we moved back in February of 2017. We loved being able to walk around the Witch City again, visiting the parks, eating amazing food, and seeing the street art & murals all over the city. The magic of Salem brought us together, and it will always be one of our favorite places to visit.

Then 2020 hit. Like everyone else, the pandemic derailed a lot of our plans. But it also helped us fast-track new ones. Sean officially proposed in June of 2020, with Valerie’s car keys since the engagement ring was delayed. It was a perfect improvisation as no other proposal could have embodied our relationship more.

While we wanted to have a real wedding with friends and family, it looked like it would be awhile before that could happen. We decided we wanted to get married in December of 2020 – we had a micro wedding, married by our friend Heather, with immediate family watching via Zoom. Not exactly traditional, but it felt right to us. We then began our search for a house and found the perfect one in Tyngsboro, MA. A bit of a fixer-upper, but we’ve been excited to do our own renovations.

While no one can know for sure what the future holds, we are both excited to see what it brings us.

We’re even more excited to finally celebrate our future together with you at our wedding!
